Why I’m Passionate About Quaker Education

I love the messages of tolerance and love we weave into our curriculum. It is exciting being able to share books with my students that are themed around the Quaker testimonies of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship. Even The Knight and the Dragon by Tomie dePaola, a favorite of our Primary and Lower grades, carries the important message of peace.

This Year in My Class

My goal is for my students to look for examples of the Quaker SPICES in each book they read. Of course, the most important thing about my library is that we have FUN reading all sorts of books for pleasure and for learning!
