2025 RMH Read for the House

Hello Westfield Community,

I’m Teacher Paige, the 4th-grade teacher at Westfield Friends School. I’m thrilled to announce that Westfield will once again participate in the Read for the House Program through Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region!

This incredible program combines a love of reading with community service by raising funds to support families at Ronald McDonald House. Last year, Westfield raised nearly $3,000—a testament to the dedication and generosity of our community. Let’s aim even higher this year!

Program Overview and Timeline

January:

  • Watch the online video to learn about the program. The Lower School watched this video together during this morning's Lower School Gathering!
  • Create your personal fundraising page and invite sponsors to pledge any amount for each minute your student reads during February.

February:

  • Reading officially begins on February 1!
  • Track your reading minutes daily using the program’s website and the calendar attached to this email. Remember: the more you read, the more support you provide to families in need!

March:

  • Reach out to your sponsors and encourage them to make their donations through your fundraising page. Every dollar raised will directly help families supported by Ronald McDonald House.

Getting Started: A Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Visit RMHCphilly.org/Read and click “Register Now.”
  2. Review the agreement. (Note: There are no fundraising requirements to participate.)
  3. Select “Reader” and join Westfield’s team by searching for it under “Find a Team to Join.”
  4. Set a fundraising goal that feels achievable. Goals can be adjusted anytime.
  5. Create a username and password for your fundraising account. If you participated last year, you can log in with your existing credentials but will need to set up a new fundraising page for 2025. For password assistance, contact Alyssa McHugh at [email protected].
  6. Personalize your fundraising page with photos, stories, or anything you’d like to share.
  7. Spread the word! Encourage friends, family, and sponsors to support your reading journey.

All of this information is summarized in the attached document for your convenience.

I’m so excited to see our community come together once again to foster stewardship through the joy of reading. Thank you for your enthusiasm and participation in this meaningful program!

If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].

In Friendship,
