Dear Friends,

How much joy can you pack into one short week?!

Monday, 5th Grade students handed out another set of red bandanas to students in the Elementary grades, who exemplified kindness and caring.

On Tuesday, Middle School students learned about fictional blogging from Westfield alum, Brad Beideman’08.

As I write this Second Grade students were enjoying a visit from the Kona Ice Truck in celebration of a classmate's birthday!

6th-grade students performed a comedic and musical version of Hamlet for students in grades 3 to 8. See the video and more photos here!

5th Grade students have been busy creating a class treasure for the A Taste of Our Towns auction next Saturday, April 22nd. In Meeting for Worship, we sang a joyous song for Passover, and Teacher Carl shared what Passover means to him.

First Grade students, chagrined to not be invited to the play, decided with Teacher Johnnie to write their own play!!

Kindergarten students are creating amazing butterfly paintings for the upcoming art show.

Today we enjoyed the sunshine as we hunt eggs in the cemetery. The eggs are turned in for items that create baskets that will go to families staying in our local Ronald McDonald House.

JackBPoetry month is here. Next week 3rd and 5th-grade students will entertain us with their annual Poetry Slam. The school-wide annual Poetry Ambush has begun. Students may stop a teacher and recite a poem from memory. Successful students get a popsicle at the end of the week. Students who recite extra-long poems earn a tea party with Teacher Margaret. So far a dozen students have successfully ambushed a teacher with a poem and one student will be having “tea” (ginger ale) with me. Original poems are allowed but have to be read by a teacher and revised by the student before the original poem is used as an ambush.
