REUSE & REPURPOSE COMMITTEE
PRESERVE OUR WATER COMMITTEE
Our 2nd and 3rd grade classes are learning all about being Environmental Scientists. They have formed their own Environment Committees to help them learn hands-on during the Project-Based Learning unit called "Helpful Humans".
All the environmental scientists are researching and gathering data related to their topics to answer our driving question:
How can we reduce the amount of waste in our environment and inspire others to help us?
The six committees are designing different kinds of presentations to show their research and their work toward answering the question.
The Energy Committee interviewed Skylar, a Solar electricity expert.
The Recycle/Reduce Committee interviewed our custodian, Mr. Wayne. The students asked him questions about recycling here at WFS. They also asked his thoughts about starting a new program, PAR Recycle Works, here at the school. Mr. Wayne gave them lots of information about how that would help and how to begin setting up the program here. It was very informative!
Our Reuse/Repurpose Committee met with expert Teacher Josh.
The Preserve Water Committee is looking at ways to converse water.
