Middle School Fundraiser helps with NJ food insecurity

Dear Westfield Friends Families, Parents, and Guardians,

The Middle School recently helped make sandwiches for Cathedral Kitchen, the largest emergency food provider in Camden, NJ, serving more than 100,000 meals a year! They aim to “help people out of food insecurity and champion their pursuit of stability and prosperity.” Our students made between 100-200 turkey and cheese and bologna and cheese sandwiches during school as part of our Thanksgiving celebration and as a service project to the community.

Last year the Middle School student body raised about $950. We're hoping to meet or exceed that mark this year. To help pay for supplies, we have asked our middle school students to bring baked goods on their assigned day/week and sell them to parents in the car line at the end of the school day. Items such as brownies, cupcakes, cookies, etc. will cost $1.00 each and provide a delicious snack for your hungry child at the end of a hard school day; imagine their delight when you hand them a tasty treat as they enter the car! Please have a look below for your child's specified day/week for which they are responsible.

Remember to have cash handy when you pick up your child; you will be rewarded with the glowing smile of your child and the knowledge that you are helping our students do something extraordinary for the community.
