The sixth-grade students have acquitted themselves well with their production of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Embedded in their language arts and music curriculums, their demonstration of learning today gave each of them opportunities to show who they are and what they may do when given the opportunity to collaborate and strive for understanding. Every demonstration, every performance, every presentation, every creation helps students know themselves and teach each other. Many thanks to all of the teachers and parents who helped these young thespians. Special thanks to Valerie Parry, Josh Max, and Jessica Fielding.
The wonderful weather the past few weeks has allowed our PreK students to channel their best Jackson Pollock. Enjoy these pictures of them at work.
We have made it to spring vacation. I hope that all of you have a wonderful week with your children. When we return we will immerse ourselves in Poetry Month. Expect a grand poetry slam from grades 3,5, and 7. Students will be ambushing me and you with the poems they have memorized and want to recite for us. Now is the time to help them discover yours and their favorite poets.
Please plan on joining me for two wonderful social events this spring, the Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 30th, and Taste of Our Town’s on Saturday evening May 14th, both held at the school. These will be opportunities for our community to gather and celebrate all our many blessings this year.
Have a wonderful vacation.
In peace,
Margaret
