2nd-grade students engaged in a science activity by working on a study of the moon. They read the book Spacebusters - The Race to the Moon, by Philip Wilkinson. It is all about the Apollo 11 space mission and the first moonwalk.

They followed the steps to making models of the moon and Earth in the proper scale.

After that, the students positioned them 110 centimeters apart. They saw how far apart they would look from far out in space. They also compared the size of the moon to the size of the Earth.
