Adopt-a-Family is a program started many years ago by Heather Marrazzo. It is organized through Volunteers of America and involves our whole school.
Each class “adopts” a family who might otherwise not have a Christmas this year. The classes are provided with the names of their family’s members, their ages and sizes, and a few items on their wish lists. Children are encouraged to accompany their parents as they shop for their special person. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn the joy of giving as well develop an appreciation for how fortunate they are.
Heather and her son, Jake continue to participate and will be delivering the bags of treasures this Friday.
The students at Westfield wish all of our Adopt-a-Families a joyous holiday!
