Home / Parents / Volunteering

One of the things that makes Westfield Friends School so special is the involvement of our parents in running and participating in events. Our students love to see their parents participating in school life, and our parent community is a vibrant, welcoming group that encourages everyone to get involved. There are many activities that you can get involved with, whether or not you have prior knowledge or experience of the event or activity.

The following volunteer-led activities are taking place this year – if you are interested in being involved, or you have ideas for other activities you would like to lead, please reach out to our Parent Council members.

Sep-Oct – Field Hockey
WFS fields a Field Hockey team in the local schools’ league. All girls 5th grade and upwards are invited to participate, and matches run from September to the end of October. No prior experience required – playing for fun and fitness.

October – Harvest Festival

This cross-school event happens on a Saturday in October. All families are invited to take part in Harvest crafts, fun, games and refreshments

November – Westfield Friends School Book Fair at Barnes & Noble
This event gives you an opportunity to stock up on gifts for the holidays while benefiting our school. In this public setting WFS has musical performances from different grades. At this event we have readings by teachers, visiting authors and displays of our students art. This is one of our largest fundraising activities of the year.

December – Holiday Flower Sale
This is your chance to purchase beautiful Poinsettia’s to decorate your home or office for the holiday season.

May – Pancake Breakfast

This annual event involves the entire school and is one of our most loved community activities, as well as being a great fundraising opportunity. Breakfast is served in the Auditorium for all parents and kids who wish to take part, and parents and staff play a great role in helping to serve our students and their families.pancakes 015
